Senior Headless Shopify Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Headless Shopify Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of our AI-native Shopify Plus commerce platform. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about headless commerce, scalable frontend architecture, performance optimization, and AI-assisted software development. You will work with modern technologies including Shopify Hydrogen, Next.js, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Headless CMS, MCP, and AI-powered development tools to deliver high-performance digital commerce experiences. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade headless Shopify storefronts using Shopify Hydrogen, Next.js, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.Lead the technical architecture and implementation of scalable commerce solutions from concept through production.Build and optimize multi-market storefronts using Shopify Plus and Shopify Markets.Develop integrations using Shopify Storefront API, Customer Account API, GraphQL, Shopify Functions, and Checkout Extensibility.Integrate headless CMS platforms such as Sanity, Contentful, or equivalent solutions.Optimize application performance with a focus on Core Web Vitals, Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Edge Rendering, Caching, and overall frontend performance.Develop advanced commerce experiences, including 3D product visualization, augmented reality (AR), product configurators, and interactive shopping experiences.Build and maintain API-driven integrations with platforms such as Klaviyo, Klarna, review platforms, affiliate systems, and other third-party commerce services.Implement server-side tracking using sGTM, Stape, and Conversion APIs, following privacy-first best practices.Contribute to AI-ready commerce capabilities through structured product data, MCP integration, and emerging AI commerce standards.Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to enhance development efficiency and code quality.Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative commerce solutions.Maintain high standards for code quality, scalability, maintainability, security, and long-term platform stability.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).4+ years of professional experience in Shopify development.Strong expertise in Shopify Hydrogen, Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Shopify Plus.Proven experience building Headless Commerce architectures.Hands-on experience with Storefront API, Customer Account API, Shopify Functions, and Checkout Extensibility.Experience integrating Headless CMS platforms such as Sanity or Contentful.Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization, modern JavaScript frameworks, and scalable application architecture.Experience working with REST APIs, GraphQL, and third-party service integrations.Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and modern engineering workflows is highly desirableLocation: Madurai Job Mode: On- Site Mail: vignesh.hrbeeyoond@gmail.com Contact: +91 9952560396 Compensation: 50,000.00 - 70,000.00 per month Work Location: In person We are seeking an experienced Senior Headless Shopify Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of our AI-native Shopify Plus commerce platform.
