About the role
Role & responsibilities Design plastic enclosures and mechanisms for appliances and consumer products, from concept sketches through final production-ready CAD Apply DFMA principles and GD&T to ensure parts are manufacturable and cost-effective for injection moulding Develop and validate mechanisms including snap fits, hinges, latches, gear trains, and other moving assemblies Build complex 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or Rhino Collaborate directly with mold makers and manufacturers to resolve DFM issues and tolerance stack-ups Own projects end-to-end, from a blank screen to a manufacturable design, bringing innovative thinking to both form and function Preferred candidate profile At least 5 years of experience in plastic product design or manufacturing, preferably within a plastic product manufacturing company or design studio Strong proficiency in plastic part design for injection moulding, including DFMA, GD&T, and related manufacturing processes Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or Rhino Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a closely related field Graduate of a premier institute such as IIT, IISc, or equivalent Demonstrated experience developing mechanisms and complex 3D CAD models for plastic parts Enthusiastic, self-driven, and comfortable taking ownership of a product from concept to manufacturing Based in India, with ability to join immediately or on very short notice Perks and benefits Work directly on real, market-bound products across appliances, industrial equipment, and consumer goods Inhand salary range from 30k - 50k INR per month Exposure to end-to-end product development, from concept through manufacturing Direct collaboration with studio leadership on client-facing projects Growth opportunity within a design-led studio working with Indian and international clients
