Chief Technology Officer - India

Role Overview: As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at BestEx Research based in India, you will be responsible for leading all software engineering and DevOps operations across the Indian offices. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have full ownership of the technology organization in India and play a crucial role in shaping the company-wide technical strategy. Your role will involve overseeing multiple engineering teams and ensuring that BestEx's technology remains scalable, reliable, and at the cutting edge. Key Responsibilities: - Own the overall technical architecture and technology roadmap across all trading systems and infrastructure - Provide hands-on architectural guidance to engineering teams in areas such as market data, trading systems, strategy/simulation, front-end platforms, and DevOps - Evaluate and introduce new technologies like AI/ML and modern data infrastructure to maintain a competitive advantage - Establish and enforce engineering best practices including code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, incident response, and documentation - Manage and grow engineering teams in Bengaluru and Kerala, recruiting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent - Set high standards for engineering culture, project timelines, priorities, and delivery commitments - Report directly to the CEO, serve as the senior technology voice in company leadership, and coordinate with global teams across different offices - Balance operational excellence with forward-looking investment in new capabilities Qualifications Required: - Must have 15+ years of software engineering experience with a significant focus on leadership and management roles - Deep expertise in C++ is essential for this role - Proven track record of building, scaling, and leading engineering organizations - Strong architectural instincts with experience in designing performant, resilient, and maintainable systems - Experience with low-latency, high-throughput, or mission-critical systems, preferably in financial trading systems - Excellent people leadership skills and experience managing geographically distributed teams - Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with C-level leadership - Direct experience with electronic/algorithmic trading systems, familiarity with quantitative trading workflows, and exposure to modern DevOps practices and AI/ML technologies are strongly preferred Additional Company Details: BestEx Research is an award-winning, high-growth, profitable algorithmic trading technology fintech company that executes over a trillion dollars in notional volume algorithmically for institutional clients.
