Program Manager New Product Development

As a Program Manager, your primary role will involve delivering business objectives through cross-functional team leadership. You will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Project execution: You will be required to follow the NPD Stage-Gate process and plan & execute New Product Development (NPD) initiatives from the initiation phase through the product delivery phase. This will include conducting Gate Reviews. - Cross Functional Team coordination: Your role will involve facilitating communication across engineering, design, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales teams to maintain schedules. - Timeline tracking: You will be responsible for maintaining project schedules, tracking budget expenditures, and monitoring resource tasks to ensure timely delivery. - Risk identification: It will be essential for you to help identify potential project risks and log mitigation actions across development phases. - Status reporting: You will gather program health data, monitor KPIs & program health metrics, and draft performance updates for senior leadership review. - Workflow improvement: Applying tools & techniques to improve efficiency and reduce workflow waste will be a crucial aspect of your responsibilities. - Project documentation: You will need to ensure that project documentation aligns with the NPD Stage-Gate process and specified industry standards and regulatory checklists. - Customer orientation: Aligning with OEM client expectations, resolving issues, ensuring customer satisfaction, and following up on client requests will also be part of your role. In terms of qualifications, the following are required: - Required education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering. - Preferred credentials: PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred. - Industry experience: You should have 810 years of experience managing programs or projects within automotive OEMs or tier-1 suppliers. - Proven track record: Demonstrated success in steering complex New Product Development (NPD) initiatives from concept to production. - Technical mastery: Understanding of Stage-Gate process, Gate Reviews, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), APQP, PPAP, and DFMEA methodologies. - Leadership capability: Exceptional stakeholder management, cross-functional leadership, and communication skills.
