About the role
Job Description : We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Power BI Developer to lead our Business Intelligence initiatives. In this role, you will own the entire lifecycle of BI project delivery-from the initial handshake with business stakeholders to the final deployment and ongoing support of sophisticated analytical tools. The ideal candidate is a data storyteller who balances technical rigor (SQL, DAX, Data Modeling) with a keen eye for User Experience (UX). Key Roles and Responsibilities : 1. End-to-End Project Ownership : - Requirement Gathering : Lead workshops with business teams to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and translate vague business needs into technical specifications. - Full-Cycle Delivery : Work independently to develop, test, deploy, and maintain reports within the Power BI ecosystem. 2. Advanced Data Engineering & Modeling : - Architectural Design : Design and implement optimized data models using Star or Snowflake schemas to ensure high performance and scalability. - Power Query & ETL : Perform complex data cleaning, shaping, and transformation using M-code in Power Query. - SQL Mastery : Write robust SQL queries involving Joins, CTEs, functions, and stored procedures to extract and prepare data from diverse sources like SQL Server, Cloud databases, and APIs. 3. Analytics & Visualization : - DAX Development : Create advanced DAX measures and calculated columns for complex time-intelligence and business logic. - UX/UI Design : Build intuitive, interactive dashboards that provide "at-a-glance" insights while allowing for deep-dive exploration. - Optimization : Continuously monitor and tune report performance, visual loading times, and query execution. 4. Power BI Service Administration : - Environment Management : Oversee Workspace and dataset management. - Infrastructure : Configure On-premises Data Gateways and manage automated data refresh schedules. - Governance : Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage user permissions to ensure data integrity and security. 5. Integration & Advanced Features : - Ecosystem Integration : Leverage Power Apps and Power Automate to create write-back capabilities or automate BI-driven workflows. - Advanced Analytics : Use Python for extended statistical modeling or data manipulation when standard visuals fall short. - Microsoft Fabric : (Preferred) Utilize Microsoft Fabric for full-stack BI implementation, including OneLake and Synapse integration. Technical Requirements & Qualifications : Education : - BE/B.Tech in Computer Engineering, IT, or Electronics & Communication. MSc (CS), MCS, or MCA. Core Competencies : - Power BI : Expert-level knowledge of Desktop and Service. - SQL : Deep proficiency in querying and data manipulation. - Data Modeling : Proven experience in dimensional modeling. - Communication : Ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
