Support System Engineer - Windows/Linux Server

Role Overview : As a Support System Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. Your day-to-day will involve troubleshooting system issues, performing system administration tasks, and maintaining the overall health of our servers and related infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with other IT teams, including network engineers and application developers, to resolve incidents and implement solutions. Key Responsibilities : - Resolve technical issues related to Linux and Windows servers, ensuring minimal downtime for critical business applications. - Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP, to provide a stable and secure platform for users. - Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks, proactively addressing issues to prevent service disruptions. - Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT infrastructure from unauthorized access and cyber threats, safeguarding sensitive data. - Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in a knowledge base, enabling efficient knowledge sharing and faster issue resolution in the future. - Collaborate with other IT teams to implement new systems and technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure. - Manage and maintain backup and recovery systems, ensuring data integrity and availability in the event of a disaster. Required Skillset : - Proven ability in troubleshooting complex system issues across Linux and Windows Server environments. - Demonstrated expertise in system administration tasks, including server configuration, patching, and performance monitoring. - Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, and storage systems. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment in Gandhinagar, collaborating with local teams and addressing immediate infrastructure needs.
