Role Overview: As a Product Management Analyst/Specialist at the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP), your role involves supporting USPs new initiative Materials Program by managing the product pipeline, evaluating potential materials for inclusion in the catalogue, gathering product and customer requirements, and collaborating with internal teams. Your background in science and product management experience will be crucial for success in this non-supervisory position. Key Responsibilities: - Identification & Evaluation: - Coordinate with Science and commercial teams to identify new potential products for the portfolio - Utilize chemistry knowledge, customer insights, and market information to determine potential impurities and product attributes - Develop expertise in areas like API reference materials, excipients, and extractables for inclusion in the materials portfolio - Market Assessment: - Understand industry/market trends, customer segments, and competitive analysis for product launch roadmaps - Evaluate product white space, portfolio gaps, and market opportunities in the pharmaceutical standards catalog market - Analyze trends in the pharmaceutical market to identify new product development opportunities - Product Life Cycle Management: - Monitor product performance, usage trends, and customer feedback to inform lifecycle decisions - Prepare reports and dashboards on product performance - Identify and evaluate product launch benchmarks based on customer, market, and financial performance indicators Qualification Required: - Masters degree in chemistry, Pharmacy, or related field - 4-5 years of experience as a process chemist with exposure to various API s and finished pharmaceutical products - 2-3 years of experience in product/portfolio management in the life science industry - Experience with software like Chemdraw, Chemfinder, and patent databases - Strong communication, interpersonal, and workload management skills - Ability to handle complexity, drive data-driven solutions, and collaborate cross-functionally Additional Details: USP values inclusive scientific collaboration and is committed to fair selection processes.
