About the role
Job Responsibilities: Develop, design, and maintain Android-based POS (Point of Sale) applications for retail, hospitality, and other business verticals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend developers to integrate with payment gateways, inventory systems, and other third-party APIs. Implement user-friendly interfaces with a strong focus on UX/UI, ensuring a seamless experience on all Android devices. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues , optimize performance, and improve the overall user experience in real-time POS environments. Integrate security features such as encryption, secure transactions, and PCI-DSS compliance to ensure the safety of customer data during POS transactions. Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and POS technology advancements to suggest improvements and new features. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry standards and best practices. Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure the smooth functioning of the app. Ensure the app meets both functional and non-functional requirements , including scalability, performance, and security. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to clients when required, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Key Requirements: Proven experience (2+ years) in Android development , particularly in building POS systems or similar applications. Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and Android SDK for Android development. Experience with payment gateway integration , hardware compatibility (barcode scanners, printers, receipt devices), and third-party APIs . Knowledge of POS protocols and transaction security measures such as encryption and PCI compliance. Experience with database management and syncing data in real-time using SQLite, Firebase, or other relevant databases. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and networking protocols (HTTP, JSON, XML, etc.). Knowledge of MVVM , MVP , or other Android architecture patterns. Experience in unit testing with tools like JUnit, Espresso, or similar. Familiarity with version control systems like Git. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail , with a focus on providing a smooth customer experience.
