Black & Veatch is seeking an exceptional and experienced professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a Manager – Consulting to provide expertise around OT Systems implementation and other related utility OT projects in an Integration Architecture capacity. The Delivery Team is a diverse group of early-to-mid career professionals with a solid foundation of utility experience and knowledge. You will work with professionals in the Consulting and Digital Delivery Teams who represent a dynamic and cross-functional group of experts in strategy, data, technology, and asset management systems. Key Responsibilities The Solution Integrator is responsible for designing, orchestrating, and validating complex technology solutions across operational technology (OT) and enterprise IT environments. This role ensures that systems such as ADMS, EMS, SCADA, and associated platforms function cohesively as an integrated operational ecosystem. The Solution Integrator provides technical leadership across solution architecture, integration design, cybersecurity alignment, and end-to-end system validation within large-scale utility transformation programs.

Solution Architecture & Design

Develop and document end-to-end solution architecture across OT and IT systems, including ADMS, EMS, SCADA, GIS, and enterprise platforms

Define logical and technical architectures, including system boundaries, data flows, and interface patterns

Lead architecture workshops and design sessions to align stakeholders on solution approach

System Integration Design & Oversight

Design and oversee integration architecture across multiple systems, vendors, and technologies

Define integration patterns, interface specifications, and data exchange requirements across IT/OT boundaries

Ensure interoperability and end-to-end functionality across integrated workflows

IT/OT Integration & Operational Alignment

Lead the design and implementation of IT/OT integration strategies, ensuring alignment with operational workflows and control system requirements

Coordinate across OT systems (ADMS, EMS, DERMS, SCADA) and enterprise IT systems (CIS, ERP, GIS)

Ensure solutions support real-time operations, reliability, and operational decision-making

Cybersecurity & Compliance Alignment

Integrate cybersecurity principles into solution and integration design, including access control, data protection, and secure communication patterns

Align system architecture with enterprise cybersecurity policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards

Support risk identification, mitigation, and validation activities for OT and IT environments

System Validation, Testing & Readiness Support

Support end-to-end system validation by ensuring integration design aligns with test scenarios and operational requirements

Collaborate with testing teams to validate system behavior, data flows, and integration performance

Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of integration-related issues

Integration Governance & Vendor Coordination

Provide technical oversight and governance across vendors, internal teams, and system implementers

Lead integration design reviews, ensure adherence to architecture standards, and manage technical risks

Serve as the technical point of integration accountability across the project lifecycle

#LI-PG1 Management Responsibilities Individual Contributor Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in instrumentation, Information Technology or Engineering

10 years of experience in business and technology consulting, relevant product management, and/or project implementation services as part of an OT vendor team with emphasis on system integration and solution architecture

2+ years of experience with electric utility control systems operations or maintenance

Actively participated in at least two ADMS projects through the complete lifecycle including requirements development, design, systems integration & implementation and testing

Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC, IEEE) and utility regulatory environments

Experience with integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi) and enterprise architecture frameworks

Background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related technical discipline

Knowledge of or direct experience with Grid Management & Modernization Solutions Deployment (e.g. Grid Modernization Technologies, Advanced Distribution Management System, Distributed Energy Resource Management System, Automated Metering Infrastructure) and/or Utility IT Transformation (Enterprise Asset Management, Work Management, Customer Information Systems, ERP)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation or computer engineering, Information Systems, or similar Technical domain

  • 7 years of experience in business and technology consulting, relevant product management, and/or project implementation services as part of an OT vendor team with emphasis on system integration and solution architecture

  • Extensive Knowledge of Electric utilities operations functions and associated processes

  • Actively participated in at least two ADMS projects with technical domain experience

  • Hands-on experience in utility OT platforms such as ADMS, EMS, SCADA, DERMS, or related systems

  • Deep understanding of system integration concepts including APIs, middleware, data models, and real-time data exchange

  • Proven experience designing IT/OT integration architectures in complex, multi-vendor environments

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for critical infrastructure systems (e.g., identity management, network segmentation, secure integration patterns)

  • Experience working across full system lifecycle including design, integration, testing, and go-live

  • Familiarity with major industry trends and OT/ADMS/DERMS vendor solutions

  • Certifications Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable preferred. Work Environment/Physical Demands Ready to support US projects with a time overlap in late evening hours to ensure smooth handovers and strong collaboration with the US teams.
