Guidewire Rating Developer

We are looking for an experienced Guidewire Rating Developer to join our insurance transformation team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter with a focus on Rating Engine, Product Model, and Product Designer , along with expertise in developing rating algorithms and maintaining product configurations for various Lines of Business (LOBs). Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement Guidewire Rating Engine configurations and customizations within PolicyCenter . Configure Product Model, Coverage, Modifiers, Rate Books, and Rate Tables based on business rules and LOB specifications. Develop and maintain rating logic and algorithms using Gosu programming and Guidewire Product Designer. Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and actuaries to translate business requirements into technical specifications and rating models. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and unit testing to ensure solution quality and compliance with best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve rating-related issues across multiple environments. Support integration of PolicyCenter Rating with external systems (e.g., ISO, third-party data providers, or custom pricing tools). Work closely with QA and UAT teams to validate rating outputs and ensure alignment with business rules. Provide production support for rating configurations and assist with performance tuning. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying optimization opportunities in rating configuration and development processes. Required Skills & Experience: 5 8 years of total IT experience with at least 3+ years in Guidewire PolicyCenter (Rating & Product Model) development. Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire Product Designer, Rate Books, Rate Tables, and Rating Worksheets. Proficiency in Gosu programming language and Guidewire Configuration Studio. In-depth understanding of insurance rating concepts, coverages, modifiers, and pricing structures. Experience with Personal Lines or Commercial Lines (Auto, Homeowners, Workers Comp, etc.). Familiarity with Guidewire integration points, web services (SOAP/REST), and plugins. Strong analytical and debugging skills for rating and pricing logic. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology and DevOps tools (JIRA, Git, Jenkins, etc.). Excellent communication and documentation skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams. Nice-to-Have: Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer Certification or Guidewire Rating Certification. Experience with Guidewire 10+ versions and Cloud implementations. Working knowledge of PolicyCenter Rules Engine and UW Configurations. Familiarity with Guidewire Product Model migration and Product Designer to PolicyCenter synchronization.
