3D Printing Engineer

Overview: We are seeking an experienced 3D Printer Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the design, development, and management of 3D printers and related products. Candidates with limited 3D printer experience but strong hardware/software development backgrounds (e.g., robotics) are also encouraged to apply. This is a rare opportunity to build a proprietary 3D printer within a company, offering both challenge and impact. Key Responsibilities: 1. 3D Printer Design & Development Conduct research and market analysis (BMC, trends, benchmarks) to inform design strategy. Design and develop advanced 3D printers for prosthetic manufacturing. Optimize slicing software for accuracy, speed, and material efficiency. 2. Quality Assurance Oversee quality control of 3D printers to ensure reliability and durability. Test and evaluate printed parts for strength, accuracy, and finish. 3. Project Management Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. 4. Research & Collaboration Present research at academic conferences; publish in peer-reviewed journals. Build partnerships with companies to enhance innovation and scalability. 5. Documentation & Compliance Prepare technical documentation (designs, assembly, maintenance). Ensure compliance with industry standards and maintain audit records. 6. Collaboration & Support Work with cross-functional teams (software, AI, prosthetics). Provide technical support and training for internal teams and customers. 7. Team & Department Management Lead and mentor team members in development and production. Oversee departmental operations, priorities, and alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field. 5+ years experience as a Mechanical Engineer. Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, etc.). Experience in software development and Raspberry Pi. Knowledge of programming languages (any). Strong English communication skills. Self-motivated, disciplined, able to work independently. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email, and collaboration tools (Slack, etc.). Preferred: Hands-on 3D printing experience. Certification in 3D printing or additive manufacturing. Knowledge of quality control and statistical process control. Strong understanding of 3D printing technologies, materials, and processes. Ability to deliver high-quality work under strict deadlines.
