Sr Software Engineer - Java, Microservices & Cloud

Overview We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud-Native Application Development. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend services that power enterprise-grade applications. This role requires a strong engineering mindset, hands-on backend development experience, and the ability to build resilient, secure, and scalable solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software using modern development practices and cloud technologies. What You'll Do Backend Application Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. Build high-performance RESTful APIs and reusable backend services. Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code following engineering best practices. Contribute to system design, technical architecture, and solution implementation discussions. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development guidelines. Microservices & Distributed Systems Design and implement Microservices-based architecture for scalable and resilient applications. Develop solutions leveraging event-driven architecture patterns and asynchronous processing models. Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance. Collaborate with architecture teams to evolve platform capabilities and engineering standards. Cloud & Platform Engineering Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure. Work with cloud services and platform capabilities to improve scalability and operational efficiency. Support cloud migration, modernization, and infrastructure optimization initiatives. Exposure to AWS or GCP environments is considered an advantage. Data & Persistence Design and optimize solutions utilizing Relational Databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases. Develop efficient data models, queries, and persistence layers for enterprise applications. Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across distributed systems. Engineering Excellence Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle. Contribute to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and quality engineering practices. Collaborate with QA, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality releases. Troubleshoot production issues and participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration & Support Partner closely with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions. Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and technical discussions. Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices. Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams across EMEA and US regions when required. Demonstrate flexibility to work with cross-functional stakeholders and support critical project deliverables across multiple time zones. What We Are Looking For 5-8 years of experience in Software Engineering with strong backend development expertise. Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development. Proven experience designing and developing Microservices-based applications. Experience building Event-Driven Architectures and distributed systems. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform; exposure to AWS or GCP is a plus. Strong knowledge of Relational Databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases. Experience building scalable, secure, and highly available backend systems. Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Experience working in Agile develop .
