About the role
Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and documents related to BESS. Design BESS layouts using custom software tools. Apply knowledge of solar system design, BESS, and different configuration and optimization methodologies. Review electrical SLD, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for electric systems. Prepare technical specifications, RFPs, BOMs, and other engineering documents related to hybrid (BESS+PV/Wind) RE projects. Ensure high-quality engineering deliverables according to departmental operating procedures and guidelines. Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the successful completion of projects. Job Requirements BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics from a recognized college/university. 5-8 years of experience in solar/wind hybrid utility scale projects, including at least 1-2 years in BESS. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Google Earth. Familiarity with PV Case, PV CAD, Helios 3D, Google SketchUp for shading scene analysis. Experience in developing solutions using advanced Excel, MATLAB/Python. Understanding of Battery Energy Storage System (On-grid/off-grid). Familiarity with use of HOMER, PLEXOS, or related BESS/Hybrid design tools is advantageous. Knowledge of engineering standards IS, IEC, EN, BS, IEEE/ANSI, NEC, and NFC, along with safety regulations, utility standards, etc. Ability to review BESS-related layout, cable routing layout, equipment layout, earthing, lightning protection, and other relevant aspects. Capability to design and review equipment layouts, SLD/Schemes, and general arrangements of BESS. Good knowledge of preparing quantity estimations and BOMs. Understanding and preparation of technical specifications, with a review of tender specifications. Understanding of sizing/selection of BESS, BMS, EMS, PCS, Transformer, MV/LV switchgear Panel, Cable, Bus Bar/Duct, DG, UPS, etc. Understanding of calculating cable sizing, system fault current, power loss, earthing, lightning protection system, lighting/illumination system, and manufacturers / vendors / subcontractors' drawings & documentation.
