Python Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at BNCW Enterprises, you will be responsible for owning and developing the backend of a subscription-based SaaS platform. You will work with a variety of features including gated content, video courses, AI-powered tools, research systems, and real-time functionalities. The platform is built using Python/FastAPI with PostgreSQL on AWS, offering you a hands-on role in building and maintaining various aspects of the backend infrastructure. ### Role Overview: In this role, you will work on the following key areas: - Backend services and APIs development using Python and FastAPI - Content management systems for gated libraries, video courses, and admin tooling - User migration and onboarding pipelines - Integration of AI systems such as LLM APIs, context management, and knowledge retrieval - Implementation of real-time features using WebSocket-based messaging and community systems - Database design, migrations, and query optimization in PostgreSQL - Managing AWS infrastructure including EC2, RDS, SES, Docker, and deployment workflows - Ensuring backend reliability and production monitoring through tools like Sentry, logging systems, and analytics - Enhancing backend scalability, performance optimization, and API security ### Key Responsibilities: - Possessing at least 4 years of professional backend engineering experience in Python - Proficiency in FastAPI with async patterns and dependency injection - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL including schema design, query optimization, and indexing - Experience with payment and subscription APIs like Stripe - Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and backend deployment workflows - Comfortable working with existing production systems and writing migration scripts - Understanding of observability and debugging tools such as Sentry and logging systems - Knowledge of backend security best practices, authentication flows, and API hardening - Excellent English communication skills for direct interaction with international clients ### Qualifications Required: - Integration experience with LLM and AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) - Exposure to WebSocket or real-time messaging - Previous experience in fintech, SaaS, or content platforms - Familiarity with subscription or membership-based products - Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation - Collaboration experience with international teams across different time zones ### About the Company: BNCW Enterprises is a digital services and SaaS-focused organization that specializes in building scalable websites, SEO systems, and AI products for startups, SMEs, and global clients.
