About the role
As a Tech Lead at BNP Paribas Global Markets, your primary role will be to drive the migration and modernization of legacy Scala-based tools to a Python- and Oracle-SQL-based architecture. You will be responsible for designing high-performance data solutions, refactoring existing systems, and working closely with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies. - Gather and analyze business requirements and propose scalable technical solutions. - Design end-to-end data architectures and flows that integrate smoothly with existing platforms. - Architect, develop, and optimize high-throughput data pipelines in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and Oracle SQL/PL-SQL. - Refactor legacy Scala applications into maintainable Python/SQL services. - Collect, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources to produce client-contribution and revenue-analysis metrics. - Enhance overall application architecture to raise service quality for business users. - Prioritize and manage workload, balancing urgent operational needs with long-term roadmap objectives. - Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues; implement preventive fixes. - Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Collaborate with global teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with the global strategy. - Explore emerging technologies that could add value to the platform. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Minimum 7 years in software development or data-engineering roles. - Advanced proficiency with Oracle SQL / PL-SQL and expert-level Python skills. - Experience leading a small development team, mentoring engineers, and driving technical decisions. - Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. - Autonomous, rigorous, collaborative, high stress-tolerance, detail-oriented, quality-focused, curious, and proactive problem-solver. Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced degree or professional certifications. - Data-warehouse experience, exposure to AI tools, proficiency with business-intelligence tools, familiarity with the ELK Stack, experience with machine-learning libraries, knowledge of additional programming languages, and experience building CI/CD pipelines.
