Role Overview: Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bangalore, India is looking for a highly skilled Associate Controls and Instrumentation Engineer Instrumentation and Data Systems to join their dynamic team. The role requires a strong background in Control Systems and Instrumentation, with a focus on Control System Automation. The candidate should be proficient in system understanding, particularly in Data Systems, and have a solid understanding of various communication protocols. This position will be based in Bangalore, India. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain LabVIEW Real Time applications and LabVIEW FPGA targets. - Implement FPGA logic and integrate FPGA targets into RT control systems; FPGA HDL (VHDL/Verilog) experience is optional LabVIEW FPGA experience acceptable. - Write low-level drivers from scratch and provide C/C++ wrappers for higher-level integration. - Design, implement and maintain Python test suites and automation for unit, integration, and system tests (examples: pytest, unittest, robotframework, behave). - Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) automated builds, unit tests, hardware in the loop (HIL) runs, artifact management, and deploy stages. - Establish and enforce revision control workflows (Git branching strategies, PR reviews, tagging, release branches, Git LFS/submodules for large files). - Implement reliable IPC/data transfer mechanisms (TCP/IP sockets, named pipes, FIFOs, shared memory) for telemetry and command channels. - Design and tune control loops (PID, cascade, feedforward) for structural and dynamic tests. - Perform sensor calibration, accuracy, and uncertainty analysis; produce calibration procedures and verification reports. - Integrate and test avionics/industrial communication protocols: ARINC 664/AFDX, ARINC 429, MIL STD 1553, RS 232/485, CAN, Ethernet. - Implement and validate timing and synchronization protocols (NTP, PTP/IEEE 1588, TSN); ensure deterministic timestamping across distributed systems. - Maintain databases for configuration and time series test data (SQL and/or time series DBs); ensure efficient storage and retrieval. - Provide troubleshooting and lab support; create clear technical documentation, test plans, release notes, and postmortems. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, Material Sciences, or equivalent directly related to the work statement. - Good understanding of complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for avionics systems. - Experience with Control System architecture and Plant model creation. - Hands-on experience with NI LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real Time, LabVIEW FPGA, Python, C, C#, and VB for instrument communication. - Knowledge on various types of measurement and test equipment. - Experience in managing Software code repositories and Continuous Integration/Deployment. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work with global teams and across different cultures and time-zones. - Self-motivated with a go-getter attitude and flexibility in organizational complexity.
