As a Senior hands-on Java Backend Engineer, you will be working independently in an Enterprise architecture stack focusing on Java with technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data REST API. You will be involved in VertexSQL and relational schema design, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and token lifecycle management, as well as Authentication/Authorization (AuthN/Z) processes. Your responsibilities will also include handling exception, validation, and logging, as well as working on CI/CD practices, particularly with GitHub Actions. You will be expected to write clean service, repository, and controller layers to ensure the efficiency and functionality of the backend system. Key Responsibilities: - Work on REST API design using Spring framework - Design and implement SQL databases and relational schema - Manage OAuth 2.0, JWT, and token lifecycle - Implement Authentication/Authorization processes - Handle exception, validation, and logging effectively - Utilize CI/CD practices, specifically with GitHub Actions - Write clean code for service, repository, and controller layers Qualifications Required: - Proficiency in Java programming language - Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data - Strong understanding of REST API design principles - Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and token management - Familiarity with relational databases and SQL - Experience in Authentication/Authorization mechanisms - Prior exposure to CI/CD practices - Good to have: Familiarity with integration testing frameworks such as Playwright - Good to have: Experience with Adobe API integration - Good to have: Knowledge of AMEX-specific technologies like Hydra, EFL, One App The Marketing Platforms team within the US Consumer and Digital Technology division is dedicated to enabling the creation, execution, and tracking of Marketing Campaigns across all Amex products and channels. The "Flywheel" initiative aims to modernize the technology stack to enhance Marketer's operational efficiency and accelerate the launch of campaigns, ultimately creating a more dynamic and personalized customer experience. In this role, you will contribute to the development of components of the modernized Marketing Platform that facilitate customer offer eligibility, marketing data management, and discovery.
