About the role
As a Supervisor, Engineering at BorgWarner, your primary role is to ensure the success of the program by meeting project cost, timing, and quality commitments. You will be responsible for effective communication, collaboration, and alignment of cross-functional teams. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Provide program management for customer programs, serving as the accountable program owner for execution and success. - Oversee product launches effectively by identifying, capturing, and mitigating risks throughout the program. - Ensure vigilant cost containment, avoidance, and reduction to achieve the program's financial targets. - Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications plan. - Align programs with the organization's mission and goals. - Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure optimal communication. - Manage a cross-functional team, driving cross-functional excellence and timely fulfillment of deliverables. - Lead the team in identifying and assessing program risks, developing mitigation plans, and ensuring proactive risk communication to stakeholders and senior management. - Utilize a methodical approach to task management and problem-solving, employing a data-driven approach to analysis. - Drive program planning by developing detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer expectations. - Manage program budgets effectively, optimize project plans, and coordinate resources within the program's scope. - Monitor project progress, track and report on project status, and implement corrective actions as necessary. - Maintain clear communication of timelines and expectations to all stakeholders. - Identify improvement opportunities, encourage innovation within the team, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning. - Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitate stakeholder meetings, and negotiate to resolve conflicts. Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. - 5+ years of work experience in sales, product, manufacturing, or quality engineering with significant customer contact. - 3+ years of project management experience (Certification with IPMP-C+ & PMP is a plus). - Demonstrated knowledge of program management, planning & timing, risk and conflict management, problem-solving, and customer communication.
