About the role
About the role We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with robust cloud expertise to join our engineering team. You will design and deliver scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS and/or Azure, working closely with cross-functional teams to build robust backend services and microservices architectures that meet enterprise-grade standards. Key responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and microservices deployed on AWS / Azure cloud platforms. - Architect and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS) and/or Azure equivalents (Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Service Bus, Azure SQL). - Build and expose secure, well-documented RESTful APIs for consumption across internal and external systems. - Design and develop reusable libraries and components for use across engineering teams. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes across environments. - Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain high code quality and reliability. - Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams on containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure management. - Contribute to and uphold engineering best practices, code reviews, and the software development lifecycle. - Produce clear and concise technical documentation for systems, APIs, and architectural decisions. What we're looking for - 6+ years of hands-on Java development experience with a strong understanding of object-oriented design and software architecture. - Proven experience building and deploying applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. - Strong proficiency in Spring Boot and microservices architecture. - Experience with containerisation tools Docker and Kubernetes. - Solid knowledge of both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases with Hibernate or equivalent ORM. - Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. - Experience working in Linux environments and with build tools such as Maven or Gradle. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. .
