CAD/CAM Designer Department CAD/CAM Designer Contract Full Time On-Site Overview The CAD / CAM Designer is a full-time, onsite position in the Engineering / Design department, focused on creating tablet compression tooling components using advanced CAD/CAM platforms such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Mastercam. This role is central to the design and manufacturing optimization of high-precision tooling for leading pharmaceutical manufacturers. Responsibilities Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs for tablet tooling using CAD/CAM software, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to technical specifications. Interpret tablet design criteria and apply appropriate tolerances and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to optimize production efficiency. Create, review, and modify part and assembly drawings, maintaining rigorous documentation and version control for all design files. Collaborate closely with manufacturing, QC, and sales teams to integrate client feedback and ensure tooling meets both internal standards and customer requirements. Select suitable materials and processes based on design specifications and pharma ceuticaltooling needs. Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of new designs, continuously improving processes to enhance product quality. Required Skills Expertise in CAD / CAM software, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Mastercam. Strong understanding of tablet design, tooling tolerances, and DFM concepts. Ability to interpret technical drawings, apply GDT, and produce documentation supporting manufacturing. Prior exposure to pharmaceutical tooling or precision engineering is a strong advantage. Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail in design and documentation. Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
