Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us Position Summary The Frontend Engineer is a motivated and detail-oriented UI Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining responsive and user-friendly web applications. The candidate should have foundational expertise in React and Node.js, with hands-on experience building intuitive interfaces and self-service portals that integrate with backend services. Proficiency in React is required, as all web applications are built using the React framework. The role involves translating business and user requirements into clean, functional frontend solutions, with a basic understanding of frontend security and performance best practices. The candidate should be comfortable working in an Agile environment, participating in sprint cycles, code reviews, and collaborating cross-functionally with backend, design, and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences. Key Responsibilities Implement responsive, accessible web experiences using ReactJS (hooks, context, state management), TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS. Build reusable UI components, clientside routing, and datadriven views that integrate with REST APIs and microservices. Develop and maintain designsystemaligned components and ensure consistency across applications. Leverage Figma artifacts to convert specs into pixelaccurate implementations, raising clarifying questions to senior developers or designers when specs are unclear. Partner with UX Center of Excellence team, Product Managers and UX designers to implement interactive prototypes (Figma) accurately, applying usability, accessibility (WCAG), and performance best practices as guided by senior team members. Participate in design reviews, helping verify UI solutions meet product acceptance criteria in regulated contexts. Write unit/integration tests (e.g., React Testing Library) and support endtoend test automation while upholding code quality. Optimize performance and reliability (error boundaries, retry strategies, telemetry). Follow BMS SDLC, documentation, and validation practices (traceability, reviews, change control) expected in GxP environment. Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives while delivering storylevel commitments reliably. Qualifications & Experience 2 to 4 years of professional experience building production UIs. ReactJS with TypeScript/JavaScript (hooks, context, component composition, state management). Figma proficiency for reading specs, interpreting design tokens, and collaborating on design systems. Strong fundamentals in HTML5/CSS, responsive layout, accessibility (WCAG), & crossbrowser compatibility. Testing with Jest/React Testing Library (or similar), bundling/build tooling (Webpack/Vite), and package management (npm/yarn). Basic exposure to Angular or NodeJS for frontend build .
