System Software Engineer

We are seeking a System Software Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain Windows-based applications that interface with hardware systems, automated test equipment, and embedded devices. The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering skills with hands-on experience in hardware-software integration, test automation, and industrial communication protocols. Key Responsibilities: Application Development Design, develop, and maintain Windows desktop applications and GUIs using C# / .NET (WPF, WinForms, or similar frameworks) Build intuitive, responsive user interfaces for device configuration, monitoring, and control tools Ensure application stability, performance, and maintainability through clean architecture and coding best practices Test Automation & Tooling Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python Create internal tools for test execution, data logging, and result analysis Support continuous integration of automated test systems into the development workflow Hardware-Software Integration Interface application software with embedded systems, IoT devices, and custom hardware platforms Develop device configuration and diagnostic tools to support hardware bring-up, validation, and field support Collaborate with hardware/firmware engineers to debug communication and integration issues Communication Protocols Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, and TCP/IP Ensure reliable data exchange between software applications and connected devices/systems Testing & Quality Assurance Design test plans and procedures for validating software and hardware interactions Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution across software and hardware layers Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes Documentation & Collaboration Document software design, test procedures, and configuration tools Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, QA, and product teams Provide technical support during integration, validation, and deployment phases Preferred / Advantageous Skills: Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP, etc.) Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines Exposure to hardware test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, protocol analyzers) Understanding of embedded systems architecture and firmware-level debugging Soft Skills Strong ownership mindset and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Collaborative approach to problem-solving across hardware and software domains
