Cad Designer

Role & responsibilities - Determining whether supplied inputs are okay and adequate before starting drafting. - Layout for the Product assembly based on the calculations input from Manager. - Using appropriate standard for drafting - Ensuring drawings 2D & 3D are generated as per the drawing standards. - After completion of the drawings a detailed checklist to be made and drawings to be checked against this for any mistakes before releasing drawings for next level of checking. - Submitting the drawing to Manager for checking. - Implementing the corrections and finalizing the drawing. - Self-updating of checklist based on the error feed back given by the concerned checking persons, to avoid further errors in the future. - Submitting the finalized drawing for approval signatures. - Co-ordination for completion of drafting activity related to projects. - Lead the drafting team for accomplishing the required goals. - Ensure error free drawings, and timely delivery of drawings. - Organizing & maintaining the drawings. - Reporting to concerned person at the end of the day for project schedule status. - Preparing sales & manufacturing drawing logs and submitting to Engineering Manager. - Updating of Process Metrics regularly for ISO 9001 purposes. - Work with the extended Engineering teams to help improve the drafting function globally. Preferred candidate profile - Minimum 3 years extensive experience with latest 3D modelling technologies (Inventor, Solidworks or equivalent) mandatory. - Fluent in English both written and verbal. - Minimum 3 years extensive experience with 2D drafting (AutoCAD 2D) mandatory. - Ideally have experience or exposure with data management softwares (Autodesk Vault or equivalent). - Technical Qualification, ideally Degree qualified in a Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent. Essential requirements: Preferably from automotive, sheet metal components, machining component industry. Must be thoroughly competent and an expert in 2D & 3D drafting with knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault. Verbal and written English speaking skills. Willing to work flexible hours. Able to handle high volume of drawings requests.
