Instrumentation Engineer - GFS

Burns & McDonnell India has exciting opportunity for Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer interested in growing their careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction. We are in a process of establishing a team of instrumentation & controls engineers focused on design of control systems for Hyperscale Data Centers and Food & Consumer

Product facilities. Project focus would also cover variety of other facilities including pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities in the North America region. Along with I&C the selected candidate will also get involved in telecommunications, building automation systems, etc.

The engineer will be responsible for developing I&C engineering design packages and calculations in support of new or

retrofit projects. Specific duties include the following:

• Design I&C system and equipment as per the requirements of each client and facility.

• Develop Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) and/or control schematics as required.

• Develop control system deliverables such as:o I/O configuration and partitioning to hardwareo Field connection diagramso DCS Connection diagramso Loop Drawingso Control Panel Designo Instrument wiring diagramso Cable Scheduleo Functional Descriptions (FDS)/Controls Narrativeso IQ/OQ Documentationo Control room layouts

• Develop instrumentation deliverables such as:o Instrument demolition/ installation diagramso Instrument datasheetso Instrument location planso Conduit routingo I/O Lists

• Review vendor drawing submittals to confirm design compliance.

• PLC programming and design of HMI.

• Perform quality reviews of project submittals.

• Develop designs that are compliant with prevalent codes, standards and good engineering practices followed in the industry.

• Work with a senior engineer in supporting design activities on the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering from accredited program or arecognized institute.

• Minimum 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. Experience in food & consumer product and mission critical facility design is a plus.

• Knowledge of the following programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred: Rockwell Studio5000, SLC, PLC5, Modicon, GE, Siemens. Schneider

• Knowledge of the following HMIs is preferred: Rockwell FT View SE/ME, Wonderware InTouch,Modicon, GE, Siemens.

• Knowledge of the following distributed control system platforms is preferred but no required.Emerson DeltaV, ABB Symphony Plus, and Siemens T3000.

• Hands on CAD experience is a must. Knowledge of REVIT is a plus.

• Proficient in the English language and must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills,

• Candidate must demonstrate a strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Previous consulting engineering experience strongly preferred

• Knowledge of database mainly Excel and Access
