About the role
You will be responsible for leading and managing the team in executing various tasks related to network upgrades and design functions. Your key responsibilities will include: - Supporting network upgrades by replacing legacy telecommunication equipment and time division multiplexing (TDM) era technology - Assessing the type of networking equipment needed on-site to support the site's needs, such as router type, router cards, small form-factor pluggable (SFP), and power requirements - Detailing and drafting designs, developing scope of work for installs, assembling part/equipment bill of material (BOM) requests, and supporting design discussions - Designing full scale complex utility grid network with high level and detail design - Preparing configurations for MPLS, Switches, Routers, SONET, etc. - Analyzing existing grid networks and preparing cutover package solution for channel migration from TDM to packet - Maintaining documentation of full project lifecycle including design revisions, change management, construction, and as-built records - Ensuring seamless communication with cross-functional project stakeholders and meeting project milestones on time Qualifications required for this role include: - Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - 3-5 years of experience in telecommunication engineering or network engineering - Hands-on experience with reputed MPLS devices - Knowledge of networking protocols, legacy telecommunications technology, network transport technology, and modern networking technology - Experience with Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word - Strong communication skills - Experience in teleprotection couplers in the utility grid Desired skills and experience include technical certification by reputable networking certification entities, experience in networking, computing, or electrical engineering, familiarity with different amplifiers in the telecom network, firewall usage, SCADA or OT networking. This is a full-time position based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Travel is not required for this role.
