About the role
Description
The Startup Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing field electro-mechanical commissioning projects in support of startup commissioning sequencing on Power and/or Industrial Plants. This position supervises the field team executing testing & commissioning activities for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems in conformance with startup standards and procedures.

Direct the planning, preparation and implementation of startup projects and major milestones with clients and vendors.

Oversee implementation of startup procedures as required by clients.

Oversee management of startup programs, daily meetings and work progress.

Oversee project deliverables for contract execution.

Direct project teams to manage project checkout and testing activities. Provide leadership with technical staff activities to complete startup system testing.

Supervise Startup Coordinators and oversee multiple commissioning systems and startup activities.

Assign work and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.

Monitor and maintain staffing levels to meet project requirements while maintaining billable goals.

Recruit, retain, train, develop, and mentor department staff.

Oversee management of projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule. Conduct technical presentations in meetings.

Responsible for overseeing startup quality assurance and quality control activities.

Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

Responsible for maintaining compliance with equal employment opportunity initiatives.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, engineering technology, electrical power & controls or a relevant field of study and 8 years of experience managing Power or Industrial Plant Startup Commissioning activities in the field required or
-
Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, engineering technology, electrical power & controls or a relevant field of study and 10 years of experience managing Power or Industrial Plant Startup Commissioning activities in the field required or
-
Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement, required.

Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.

Demonstrated project management skills and a strategic perspective.

Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour certification.
-
This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
