Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Overview At Whodat we are building Origin - a state - of - the - art spatial mapping and AR platform. We are looking for talented and passionate full stack engineers like you who will build the backend infrastructure that deploys our tech at massive scale. You will work with our product engineering team in designing and building scalable systems that can serve from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of simultaneous requests. Our highly competent R&D team develops programs in Computer Vision , and Machine Learning. You will work with this team to solve complex engineering problems that will take these research programs and expose them as microservices. Your ability to work with different backend tech stacks and different engineering teams will be critical for this position. You should be independent and confident in your design decisions and tech stack choices. Responsibilities Work closely with the Company s R&D team to understand , design , and build systems that expose our internal Computer Vision and Machine Learning frameworks as microservices. Design and develop systems keeping high availability and scalability as priority. Deploying systems on cloud service providers like AWS , Azure , GCP , etc. Handle transmission , storage , and retrieval of large volumes of 3D and image data. Optimize systems in terms of latency , memory , and storage requirements. Maintain , test , and update systems including release cycles and software upgrades. Write clean and efficient code using best software engineering principles for any and all programming tasks. Write technical documents , including architecture diagrams and system descriptions. Requirements Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in full - stack software development with Bachelor's / Master s degree in Computer Science , or relevant discipline. Extensive experience in building production - ready , highly scalable , and highly available backed systems. Proven ability in designing and building microservices frameworks like RESTful. Deep experience with data modelling in Relational and NoSQL databases. Proficiencey in at least one major backend language - Javascript , Golang , Ruby , Java , etc. Working knowledge of CI / CD systems like Kubernetes , Kafka , Docker , etc. Good understanding of OOP and Design Patterns. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability of wearing multiple hats and will to work in a Startup! Desirable Experience with spatial data such as GIS and 3D point clouds. Server optimization in terms of memory , storage , speed , mult - threading. DevOps experience. Well versed in functional programming.
