Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PLC and SCADA Automation Engineer role based in Kochi. The PLC and SCADA Automation Engineer will design, program, test, and commission automation solutions using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for industrial applications. Daily responsibilities include developing control logic, creating and modifying SCADA screens, preparing I/O lists and wiring documentation, and integrating field instruments, drives, and panels. The role involves troubleshooting control systems on-site, performing system diagnostics, and resolving issues during installation, startup, and maintenance. The engineer will collaborate with project managers, panel designers, and customer teams to ensure projects meet technical specifications, safety requirements, and timelines, while providing technical support, documentation, and training to end users. Qualifications Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., ladder logic, function block, structured text) and experience with major PLC platforms (such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or similar).Hands-on experience with SCADA and HMI systems, including screen development, alarms, data logging, and integration with PLCs.Sound understanding of industrial automation concepts, control panels, I/O systems, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and basic electrical and instrumentation principles.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications, and translate them into control logic and configurations.Experience in on-site commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of automation systems in industrial or process plant environments.Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and network integration is preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work safely and independently at customer sites and in panel shops.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document work clearly and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field (or equivalent practical experience).
