About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with 10+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, automation, and operational excellence across mission-critical production systems. The candidate should possess strong expertise in SQL Server architecture, troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance optimization, and database modernization initiatives. Key Responsibilities Database Administration & Operations Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SQL Server instances. Manage SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2019/2022 environments. Monitor database health, availability, and performance. Create and maintain databases, filegroups, tablespaces, and storage structures. Perform proactive capacity planning and database growth management. Manage database migrations, upgrades, and consolidation projects. Performance Tuning & Optimization Analyze and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, locking, and resource contention issues. Analyze execution plans and implement performance improvements. Design and maintain indexing strategies. Optimize database performance using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Query Store, DMV's, and Performance Monitor. Conduct regular health checks and performance reviews. Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies. Perform database restores and recovery testing. Ensure Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) compliance.
