Software Development Engineer (SDE)

Role Overview: As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) at CAI, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing scalable applications as part of a cross-functional Scrum team. Your role will involve implementing robust solutions, ensuring maintainability through code reviews and comprehensive unit testing, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. As a mid-level technical professional, you will take ownership of feature delivery and code quality. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhance scalable applications as part of a cross-functional Scrum team - Conduct structured peer code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines - Develop comprehensive unit tests and ensure high test coverage - Build and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines - Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, and Engineers during backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives - Refactor and optimize existing codebases for performance and maintainability - Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis - Maintain clear technical documentation related to feature behavior, validations, and design decisions - Contribute to improving development processes and engineering best practices Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field - 1-3 years of experience in Agile/Scrum development teams - Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python) - Experience writing unit and integration tests as part of regular development work - Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit) - Familiarity with API testing and backend service validation - Understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices and CI/CD workflows - Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail - Effective collaboration and communication within cross-functional development teams Additional Company Details: CAI is a global services firm with over 9,000 associates worldwide and a yearly revenue of $1.3 billion+.
