About the role
As a Level 2 Automation Systems Developer, your role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems for industrial and manufacturing plants. Your responsibilities include: - Developing software applications for various purposes such as process monitoring, production tracking, reporting, alarm management, data logging, and process optimization. - Building and enhancing enterprise-grade applications using technologies like C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, ASP.NET, Windows Services, and REST APIs. - Developing and maintaining communication interfaces between PLCs, SCADA systems, Laboratory Systems, Continuous Casters, MES, ERP, and other industrial equipment. - Designing, optimizing, and managing databases using Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle, including writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database schemas. - Developing data acquisition, processing, and integration modules to support real-time plant operations and decision-making. - Participating in system architecture discussions and contributing to scalable, high-performance software solutions. - Performing software testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure system reliability and uptime. - Supporting onsite commissioning, deployment, system integration, and production stabilization activities at customer locations. - Collaborating with automation engineers, plant personnel, project managers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective solutions. - Integrating third-party industrial systems and devices using industrial communication protocols and APIs. - Preparing technical documentation, deployment guides, and user manuals for developed solutions. - Providing post-implementation support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement recommendations. - Ensuring adherence to coding standards, software quality practices, and project delivery timelines. - Staying updated with emerging technologies in Industrial Automation, Smart Manufacturing, Industrial IoT, and Digital Transformation. This job requires a strong background in software development, database management, and industrial automation technologies. Additionally, effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to learning about new technologies are essential for success in this role.
