About the role
As a Senior Network Engineer (L4) in the Global IT Services and Telecommunications sector, your role will involve operating within a global managed-services environment supporting mission-critical customer networks in India and APAC. Your primary focus will be on advanced routing/switching, incident resolution, network design changes, and ensuring SLA-driven delivery for complex enterprise and service-provider infrastructures. Key Responsibilities: - Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex multi-vendor network incidents across WAN, LAN, and Data Center environments to restore service within SLA targets. - Design, validate, and implement network changes and upgrades routing, switching, VPNs, and SD-WAN following change-management and release processes. - Operate and tune dynamic routing protocols and MPLS services (BGP, OSPF, MPLS L3VPN) to optimize performance and resiliency for enterprise customers. - Collaborate with NOC, field engineering, and cross-functional teams to execute escalations, maintenance windows, and post-incident reviews. - Develop and maintain runbooks, configuration standards, and automation playbooks to reduce mean-time-to-repair and improve operational consistency. - Mentor junior engineers, participate in design reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (observability, monitoring, automation). Qualifications Required: - Must-Have: - BGP, OSPF, MPLS - Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, SD-WAN - Preferred: - Ansible, Python - Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Datadog) - Additional Qualifications: - Proven experience in enterprise or service-provider network operations and escalations. - Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS or equivalent are highly desirable. - Familiarity with ITIL practices, change management, and SLA-driven support models.
