Role Overview: As a Software Developer at Caterpillar Inc., you will play a crucial role in shaping the world by contributing to agile software development. You will be part of a global team dedicated to creating stronger, sustainable communities through innovation and progress. Key Responsibilities: - Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications using agile methods for the target system. - Gather client requirements, automate workflow problems, and optimize processes. - Write source codes for current applications and enhance code samples for existing applications. - Utilize automated testing tools for testing and maintenance purposes. Qualifications Required: - Primary Skillset: Python, Flask API development, AWS, MySQL, ReactJS, HTML, CSS. - Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking techniques, analyze situations accurately, and make productive decisions. - Apply an assigned technique for critical thinking. - Identify, obtain, and organize relevant data and ideas. - Participate in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processes. - Recognize, clarify, and prioritize concerns. - Assist in assessing risks, perks, and consideration of alternatives. - Effective Communications: Understand effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques to transmit and interpret ideas accurately. - Deliver feedback focusing on behaviors without offending the recipient. - Listen to feedback without defensiveness and use it for own communication effectiveness. - Make oral presentations and write reports needed for work. - Avoid technical jargon when inappropriate. - Consider non-verbal cues from individuals and groups. - Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities to produce software products aligned with requirements. - Conduct walkthroughs and monitor effectiveness and quality of development activities. - Elaborate on multiple-development toolkits for software. - Participate in the development of multiple or large software products. - Contrast advantages and drawbacks of different development languages and tools. - Estimate and monitor development costs based on requirements.
