Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Storage Engineer (NetApp SME) to join our international infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation and operational management of enterprise storage environments for a diverse global customer base. You will act as a subject matter expert, contribute to strategic technology decisions, and drive continuous improvement through automation and best practices. Location: Chennai Work Model: Night Shift USA Alaska Time Zone Key Responsibilities: Storage Operations & Engineering - Implement and maintain enterprise storage environments, ensuring high availability and performance. - Support and optimize customer storage platforms across multiple technologies and environments. - Act as the primary SME for NetApp solutions, providing expert-level guidance and support. Standards & Best Practices - Collaborate with senior engineers to define and enforce technical standards, architectures, and operational best practices. - Continuously improve storage processes, procedures, and service quality. Documentation & Process Management - Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, procedures, and knowledge articles. - Ensure operational consistency through well-defined and documented processes. Project Delivery - Contribute to infrastructure projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments. - Take ownership of deliverables, timelines, and quality outcomes within assigned projects. Operational Support - Participate in on-call/standby rotations and planned maintenance activities. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage and system issues in a timely manner. Automation & Innovation - Contribute to automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, scalability, and reliability. - Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and enhance service delivery through tooling and scripting. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work closely with cross-functional teams in a global environment. - Mentor and coach junior engineers through knowledge-sharing sessions and continuous development support. Qualifications & Experience: - Minimum 8+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or a similar role. - Proven track record in managing and implementing large-scale Netapp storage environments. - Strong hands-on experience with NetApp storage technologies (ONTAP, SnapMirror, Snapvault, etc.). - In-depth knowledge of storage protocols and services: NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, LDAP integration concepts - Solid understanding of: Windows Server environments (Active Directory, NTFS), Linux operating systems, Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP) - Experience with SAN technologies and networking (Fibre Channel, zoning, etc.) - Exposure to automation tools and scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible) - Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical issues independently - Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a global team environment - Own an active Netapp NCDA Certification degree (Other Netapp certification degrees are a big plus) Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Storage Engineer (NetApp SME) to join our international infrastructure team.
