Software Engineer - PLC/HMI Automation

We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in industrial automation to develop, program, test, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based control systems. The candidate will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to deliver reliable automation solutions for industrial machines and process equipment. Key Responsibilities PLC & HMI Programming Develop, modify, and maintain PLC and HMI programs for industrial automation systems. Configure and program electrical control panels for machines and process equipment. Optimize PLC logic to improve machine performance, efficiency, and reliability. Testing & Commissioning Perform software testing, debugging, and commissioning of automation systems at the factory and customer sites. Diagnose and resolve software issues related to PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial control systems. Support machine trials, installation, and start-up activities. Engineering Coordination Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and functional specifications. Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers during machine design, development, and commissioning. Coordinate with production and service teams to ensure smooth project execution. Documentation Prepare technical documentation, PLC/HMI program backups, commissioning reports, and operating manuals. Maintain software revision records and project documentation. Technical Support Provide technical support to production, service, and maintenance teams. Assist in troubleshooting automation-related issues at customer sites when required. Compliance Ensure all automation solutions comply with electrical safety standards, customer specifications, and company procedures. Educational Qualification Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Technical Skills Hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Delta, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, or similar platforms). Experience in HMI development and SCADA systems. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, or RS-485. Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel drawings. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for industrial automation systems. Basic understanding of VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial instrumentation. Experience 3-5 years of experience in PLC, HMI, and industrial automation programming. Freshers with strong PLC/HMI project experience may also be considered. Preferred Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to travel for site commissioning and customer support. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
