Senior Engineer - Java/ Jakarta EE

Title: Senior Engineer - javaExperience Level: 8+ yearsLocation: [Your location or mention “Hybrid/Remote” if applicable] About the Role We are seeking an experienced Java Senior Engineer to join our team and drive the technical vision, architecture, and design of enterprise-grade applications. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with product management and development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions. Key Responsibilities Work in an Agile environment to design and implement new features based on business requirements. Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of technical architecture for the development team. Manage scalability and technical infrastructure roadmap and ensure timely delivery. Own the overall quality of deliverables across all parameters including functionality, performance, security, and usability. Collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and product management to ensure technical alignment with business goals. Troubleshoot complex issues and provide robust solutions quickly and effectively. Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines. Drive adoption of modern practices including DevOps, automation, and cloud-native architectures as appropriate. Technical Skills & Experience Expert knowledge of Java and J2EE (Jakarta EE) technologies. Deep experience designing and developing enterprise applications using Jakarta EE standards. Expert knowledge of design patterns, EJB, JPA and other core enterprise Java technologies. Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful web services in Java using frameworks such as JAX-RS or Spring MVC Rest. Good hands-on experience with SQL and relational database design. Solid understanding of Confluent Kafka or other event-streaming platforms for high-throughput messaging. Knowledge and experience building enterprise-class web applications, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. Excellent understanding of the developer life cycle and enterprise development tools (e.g., version control, CI/CD, static code analysis). Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex distributed systems. Deep experience working in Agile development methodologies, SCRUM, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). Soft Skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills. Passion for technology, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing cloud-native architectures (e.g., containerization, Kubernetes). Experience with performance tuning and high-availability architectures. Exposure to security best practices in enterprise applications. Experience integrating multiple enterprise systems and services. Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
