About the role
About the Role We are looking for a Back-End Software Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable, high-performance backend systems across our Development & Engineering portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with strong Python/backend engineering experience who can take ownership of production-grade services, collaborate with globally distributed teams, and contribute to reliable, secure, and maintainable system designs. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Pytho n and related backend frameworks. Own backend services end-to-end, including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Build and maintain APIs and backend integrations to support reliable system-to-system communication. Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and production incidents. Apply best practices for reliability, scalability, performance, maintainability, and secure coding. Collaborate with globally distributed teams, including U.S.-based stakeholders, in a remote/asynchronous work environment. Contribute to technical design discussions and support architectural decisions. Maintain clear technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of hands-on backend software engineering experience. Strong experience building production-grade systems usin g Python. Experience with backend frameworks such a s Flask , FastAPI, CherryPy, Quart, Pyramid, or similar. Working knowledge of API design, RESTful services, backend integrations, and system-to-system communication. Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data modeling concepts. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/containerization, and modern development practices. Strong understanding of secure coding, testing, code quality, and maintainable software design. Good problem-solving ability with ownership, attention to detail, and strong execution discipline. Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
