Process Engineer - Lower Carbon

As a Lower Carbon Process Engineer at Chevron's ENGINE Center, your role involves providing technical consulting to enhance Chevron's carbon and energy performance across the asset lifecycle. You will collaborate with Business Units and Strategy groups to identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities in areas such as energy efficiency, process optimization, Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage (CCUS), Hydrogen, flaring reduction, methane venting reduction, and renewable energy. Your contribution will be crucial in evaluating and deploying technologies that align with Chevron's sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities: - Provide timely technical service consultation to operating assets and capital project teams, aiding in new asset development and addressing operational issues in existing projects and assets. - Review and enhance designs for operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance. - Support early phase project design execution by developing process documents like heat and material balances and process datasheets. - Develop and maintain detailed process simulation models using tools such as Hysys, ProII, etc., to assess design and operating scenarios. - Assist day-to-day operations by offering engineering analysis and process troubleshooting using data analytics and process monitoring tools like PI, Seeq, etc. - Engage in on-the-job training/development opportunities by mentoring with Chevrons Technical Center (CTC) counterparts. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree (B.E./B. Tech) in chemical engineering or a related field from a recognized (AICTE) university. - Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with Chevron's global employee workforce. Preferred Qualifications: - 5-10 years of process engineering experience in upstream, downstream, or petrochemical process facilities, gained through operation support engineering assignments or process design work for capital projects. - Experience in evaluating energy optimization and carbon reduction opportunities, including understanding the impact of design and operation on energy efficiency and GHG emissions. - Proficiency in technical and economic assessment, energy efficiency improvements, CCUS, Hydrogen, flaring reduction, and methane venting reduction. - Ability to perform analytical calculations related to mass transfer, fluid flow, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, process control, kinetics, and equipment sizing. - Familiarity with process monitoring tools and process modeling software like PI, Seeq, Hysys, PROII, etc. - Awareness of Process Safety Management concepts and principles such as Process Hazards Analysis, Alarm Objective Analysis, Integrity Operating Windows, etc. At Chevron ENGINE, you will be part of a global team supporting business requirements worldwide. The standard work week is Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Chevron participates in E-Verify in certain locations as mandated by law.
