About the role
As an AutoCAD Designer in the facade industry, your role involves translating architectural concepts into precise 2D/3D technical drawings. You will be responsible for generating structural shop drawings, fabrication blueprints, and material layouts such as curtain walls and glazing. Collaboration with engineers and site teams is crucial to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: - Shop Drawing Creation: Develop detailed, dimensioned 2D shop drawings, elevation details, and section details for glass facades, cladding, windows, and doors. - Fabrication & Assembly Plans: Prepare precise fabrication drawings (cutting lists) and installation schematics for manufacturing teams. - Material Optimization: Generate accurate material take-offs (BOQ - Bill of Quantities / BOM - Bill of Materials) to minimize wastage. - System Focus: Detail systems such as curtain walls, structural glazing, ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel) cladding, spider glazing, and windows. - Material Take-Offs: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for procurement and factory production. - Coordination: Interpret architectural and structural blueprints, coordinating directly with architects, main contractors, and site engineers. - Site Revisions: Update and modify drawings to incorporate dynamic site modifications or to resolve on-site fabrication and installation challenges. Qualifications Required: - Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (Mechanical Engineering backgrounds are also frequently accepted).
