About the role
Job Title: Senior Python Automation Developer IBM Storage / Mainframe (Remote) Job Summary We are looking for highly experienced Senior Python Developers with strong automation expertise and an IBM Storage/Mainframe background to join a long-term engagement supporting enterprise production environments. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on Python development, with expertise in Python automation for IBM DS8K and VTS storage, IBM z/OS environments, and REXX scripting. Experience with enterprise storage automation, Git, Jenkins is highly desirable. Position Details Location: Pune/Bangalore, India Work Mode: Remote (Candidates must be based in Pune or Bangalore) Work Timings: Regular India Office Hours Communication Skills: Excellent Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Python automation solutions for IBM Storage and Mainframe environments. Automate storage pool monitoring, alerting, and operational actions in production settings. Develop automation for IBM DS8K and VTS storage platforms. Build and enhance Python-based automation for z/OS environments. Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and mainframe teams to improve operational efficiency. Develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade automation scripts and workflows. Participate in code reviews and follow DevOps best practices using Git and Jenkins. Support production environments and troubleshoot automation-related issues. Mandatory Skills Minimum 12+ years of overall IT experience. Minimum 10+ years of hands-on Python scripting and development experience. Strong Python automation experience with IBM DS8K and IBM VTS storage environments. Experience developing Python automation solutions for enterprise storage platforms. Strong experience in Python automation for IBM z/OS environments including REXX scripting. Experience with Git and Jenkins. Solid understanding of production support and enterprise automation practices. Preferred Skills REXX programming JCL programming IBM Mainframe technologies Storage administration automation DevOps practices for enterprise automation Experience supporting US-based clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote workplace with minimal supervision.
