Senior Manager, Application Development

As the Senior Manager, Application Development for Global Operations Workbench Technology at CIBC India, you will play a crucial role in leading a high-impact, fast-paced development team to build and deliver mission-critical applications supporting multiple business partners and major client groups. Your responsibilities will include: - Successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple front-end and back-end systems. - Overseeing project delivery to ensure adherence to standards, operating procedures, and compliance requirements. - Building and maintaining strong relationships with Application Development (AD) partners, business teams, and vendors. - Championing DevOps practices and implementing continuous automated deployments. - Managing your department budget and resources in alignment with project deliverables. Your key accountabilities will involve: - Tracking, analyzing, and translating business requirements into effective technical solutions. - Providing hands-on support for complex incident management and ensuring timely resolution of technical issues. - Collaborating closely with clients, business partners, and vendors to develop, test, plan, and implement application solutions. - Identifying opportunities for process optimization and modernization and implementing appropriate solutions. - Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing, diverse team. Your qualifications should include a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Tech, or a related field, along with the following skills: Must-have skills: - 10+ years of experience in application development, including 3+ years of people management experience. - Proficiency in Java/J2EE, cloud application development, WebLogic, Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), Oracle/PLSQL, IBM MQ, ETL tools (Informatica/Databricks), and DevOps tools. - Experience managing complex, enterprise-scale projects and production environments. - Excellent technical and business communication skills. - Familiarity with Waterfall & Agile methodologies. Good-to-have skills: - Experience working onsite at client locations or in the financial/banking vertical. - Leadership experience in digital transformation or modernization initiatives. - Familiarity with infrastructure components such as network, compute, storage, and Oracle database. This role operates within a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse working conditions.
