About the role
As a developer in this role, you will be responsible for developing complex applications and systems to support IT services. Some of your key responsibilities will include: - Designing, coding, testing, correcting, and documenting complex programs and scripts based on specifications - Installing, configuring, customizing, and integrating standard software - Implementing and executing module/component tests, and providing technical documentation - Providing technical application support and assisting in deployment and training - Monitoring service delivery performance metrics and recommending service agreement adjustments In terms of technical skills, you will need exposure to technologies like Core Java, SpringBoot, Microservices architecture, SOAP & RESTful webservices, as well as tools like STS/IntelliJ, Maven, and GitHub. It is important to prioritize business impact, have the ability to learn new technologies quickly, and have knowledge of XML, Jenkins, Kibana, Docker, AWS DevOps, among others. In addition to technical skills, certain behavioral skills are also required for this role, such as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to learn and adapt quickly, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Soft skills like business acumen, time management, adaptability, and design thinking are also important. To be considered for this role, you should have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. You should also have at least 5+ years of development experience, with knowledge of client-server programming, agile methods, and experience in the insurance industry. Overall, this role requires a mix of technical expertise, behavioral skills, and relevant experience to effectively contribute to the development and maintenance of IT applications and systems.
