Commercial Analyst - Power BI Developer (Telangana)

Position: Commercial Analytics & Power BI developer Analytics & Power BI Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across Sales, Marketing, Customer Engagement, and Commercial Operations. This is a third-party payroll / contract role based in Hyderabad, suitable for candidates with 5-6 years of experience in business intelligence, commercial analytics, reporting automation, and Power BI dashboard development. The ideal candidate should bring strong hands-on experience in Power BI, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, advanced analytics, and business reporting, along with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions. Key Responsibilities Business Intelligence & Power BI Dashboarding - Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and executive reporting solutions. - Build scalable Power BI data models using appropriate relationships, hierarchies, calculated columns, and measures. - Develop advanced DAX measures for business KPIs, time intelligence, variance analysis, trend analysis, contribution analysis, and performance comparisons. - Use Power Query to clean, transform, merge, append, and shape data from multiple sources. - Create dashboards that support business reviews across sales, marketing, customer engagement, and commercial operations. - Ensure dashboards are visually intuitive, performance-optimized, and aligned with stakeholder needs. Advanced Day-to-Day Power BI Technical Expectations The role will require hands-on execution of day-to-day Power BI development and maintenance activities, including: ---Internal Use--- - Building optimized semantic models with clean star-schema-based data structures. - Creating reusable DAX measures for KPIs such as sales growth, achievement %, market share, customer contribution, campaign performance, territory performance, and period-over-period comparisons. - Developing drill-through, drill-down, bookmarks, slicers, tooltips, agile titles, field parameters, and navigation-based report experiences. - Managing report-level, page-level, and visual-level filters to improve dashboard usability. - Implementing role-level security where required to manage access by region, business unit, territory, or user group. - Performing dashboard performance tuning by optimizing DAX, reducing unnecessary columns, managing data model size, and improving refresh efficiency. - Monitoring scheduled refreshes and troubleshooting data refresh failures. - Validating dashboard outputs against source reports, Excel trackers, or business- provided numbers. - Creating documentation for data definitions, KPI logic, dashboard usage, assumptions, and refresh processes. - Publishing reports to Power BI Service and managing workspaces, dataset refreshes, access permissions, and version updates. - Supporting enhancement requests, bug fixes, new metric additions, and dashboard change management. - Working with data from Excel, SharePoint, SQL databases, CRM, ERP, and other enterprise data sources. - Supporting reporting automation to reduce manual effort and improve reporting consistency. Data Analytics & Business Insights - Analyze sales, marketing, customer, product, territory, and commercial performance data. - Identify trends, performance gaps, opportunities, risks, and business improvement areas. ---Internal Use--- - Convert raw data into meaningful insights that support leadership reviews and decision-making. - Support ad-hoc analysis requests from commercial, marketing, finance, and business teams. - Prepare concise business summaries and insight narratives based on dashboard outputs. - Help business users interpret data and convert insights into practical business actions. Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management - Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, business questions, and decision-making requirements. - Translate business requirements into analytical frameworks, dashboards, and reporting solutions. - Document requirements, assumptions, KPI definitions, data sources, and reporting logic. - Partner with cross-functional teams to validate data accuracy and resolve reporting discrepancies. - Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Manage multiple reporting and analytics priorities with ownership and attention to detail.
