About the role
As a QA Engineer at Cinergie Digital, your role will involve specializing in airline seat configuration for an offshore quality assurance position on a 787 fleet three-class configuration project. You will be responsible for validating seat layouts, cabin configurations, booking rules, and seat-related functionality across reservation and operational systems to ensure that all configuration changes meet quality standards before deployment. Key Responsibilities: - Validate seat layouts, cabin class configurations, and seat map integrity across booking, check-in, and boarding workflows. - Test multi-class booking configurations (Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First) to ensure correct behavior end-to-end. - Develop, maintain, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans covering seat configuration scenarios. - Validate integration between airline PSS and seat configuration or inventory data, ensuring consistency across systems. - Perform regression testing for seat map updates, booking flow changes, and UI/UX enhancements. - Identify, document, and track defects through standard defect management tools and drive timely closure. - Ensure test coverage adheres to airline regulations, IATA standards, and organizational quality processes. - Collaborate with development teams, product owners, business analysts, and operational stakeholders to support high-quality releases. - Provide test reports, coverage metrics, and release readiness documentation to stakeholders. - Contribute to test automation efforts for UI or API layers where applicable. Required Technical Skills: - Proven experience in the airline domain with direct exposure to seat configuration, seating rules, and inventory management. - Strong understanding of airline Passenger Service Systems (PSS), IATA standards, and NDC protocols. - Hands-on manual testing experience with the ability to design structured, comprehensive test cases. - Proficiency with test management tools, defect tracking systems, and test reporting practices. - Ability to analyze complex airline seat rules, cabin configuration logic, and related system behavior. - Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI for validating reservation and configuration service integrations. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail in configuration-heavy testing environments. - Clear written and verbal communication skills to produce unambiguous defect reports and stakeholder-facing test summaries. - Knowledge of aircraft fleet specifications, cabin class layouts, and seat map design principles. - Familiarity with airline distribution systems like GDS, OTA/Metasearch ecosystems, or airline merchandising features. - Exposure to API schema validation and data-driven testing frameworks. - Experience with automation frameworks (UI or API) contributing to framework development rather than just execution. - Familiarity with cloud-based cross-browser testing tools such as BrowserStack or LambdaTest. In this role, your airline domain experience is mandatory, as genuine familiarity with seat configuration systems is required. Detail orientation is crucial as seat configuration testing is meticulous, and errors can impact every passenger on every flight. You should be comfortable working independently in an offshore model and be a proactive communicator who identifies blockers and quality risks before they affect the release process.
