As the Director of Engineering and India Site Lead at Cisco's Client Optics Group (COG) Silicon Engineering Org, you will be leading the India Team in Bengaluru & Pune. Your role involves setting up a high-performance silicon engineering team and overseeing the end-to-end execution of optical transceiver development for COG's silicon-photonicsbased transceiver chipsets and modules. A key focus of this role is to deploy AI tools to enhance productivity, quality, and development cycle times. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) and provide timely responses for new product concepts - Participate in Cisco's product lifecycle process including Concept Commits (CCs) and Engineering Commits (ECs) - Develop and maintain accurate program schedules and resource plans - Oversee the design, development, and delivery of electronics ICs and chipsets - Ensure best engineering practices in development, physical design, simulation, and validation - Apply analytics and AI/ML to optimize test strategies and improve test coverage - Partner with global teams to ensure successful program delivery - Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture, promoting knowledge sharing across teams - Mentor and develop high-performing teams emphasizing continuous learning and effective use of AI-assisted development tools Qualifications Required: - 15+ years of high-speed electronics and photonics development leadership experience - Experience in mixed signal/analog electronics and digital signal processors - Knowledge of high-speed SERDES, optical/photonic ICs, and advanced packaging - Expertise in silicon diagnostics, test coverage, DFT, and validation - Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field Preferred Qualifications: - Understanding of silicon manufacturing processes and automation - Knowledge of optical transceiver silicon architecture at high data rates - Familiarity with MSA standards and IEEE 802.3 ethernet specifications - Strong communication, global team management, and executive presence This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing silicon engineering team in India and drive innovation in optical transceiver development using cutting-edge technologies and AI tools.
