Role Overview: As part of the Internal Fraud Analytics team at Citi, your role involves executing fraud analytics and strategies to support Citi's North American internal fraud detection efforts. You will leverage data to identify internal fraud opportunities, design and implement strategies for detecting internal fraud, and violations of the code of conduct. Collaboration with Internal Fraud Operations, Prevention team, and technology partners is essential to align business and technology directions to assess internal fraud impacts and implement strategies effectively. Your role requires strong analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate complex and dynamic data from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are vital for this role. Key Responsibilities: - Leverage data and advanced analytics to identify patterns, trends, and insights, and conduct risk/reward trade-off analysis. - Own and manage internal fraud rules, data sources, evaluate ETL, execution performance, and perform gap analysis. - Drive alignment across functional teams by interacting with data engineers, analysts, and business leaders to ensure a shared understanding of data logic and implementation specifics. - Take ownership of controls and governance processes, identify process gaps, and suggest opportunities for improving effectiveness. - Generate and manage regular and ad-hoc reports to facilitate effective investigation and identification of detection possibilities. - Build strong relationships within and outside the internal fraud team to ensure successful and timely execution of key portfolio priorities. Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree required in statistics, economics, computer science, or other analytical or quantitative discipline. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical field. - Strong SQL skills, hands-on coding experience, and understanding of data structures/processes. - Experience working with Big Data Environment Open Source tools (e.g., Python, Impala, Hive) and scripting languages is preferred. - Excellent exploratory analytic skills, ability to derive patterns and insights, and conduct risk/reward trade-off analysis. - Good written and verbal communication skills to connect analytics to business impacts and present to peers and management. - Detail-oriented with intellectual curiosity, ability to multitask, work against tight deadlines, and operate independently with guidance from management.
