About the role
The Business Analytics Int Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.Responsibilities:Leverage analytics to identify enhancement opportunities and more granular insights that can be acted upon, while ensuring adherence to Fraud Policy.Ownership and management of fraud rules, scores, and detection strategiesAnalysis of customer data and transactional data to identify emerging fraud trends, develop, and improve fraud strategiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategy recommendations based on data and trend analysis, and implement mitigation strategiesGenerate and manage regular and ad-hoc reporting to enable effective monitoring and identification of emerging trends.Continually assess manual and automated processes to identify potential process gaps and opportunities.Analysis of customer data and transactional data to identify emerging fraud trends, develop, and improve fraud strategiesPeriodic review and development of MIS reports, dashboards and communication of fraud results internally and to the business using advanced visualization techniques.Work with various stakeholders during strategy development and conversion efforts to identify and fulfill data/analytical needs; develop comprehensive transition planMentor and coach junior team members.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related quantitative fieldEngineering / MBA background from a premier instituteMinimum 6+ years of hands-on analytical experienceMinimum 4+ years experience in statistical analysis with working knowledge of: SAS / SQL (mandatory), R / Python (desired)Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, environmentHands on experience in data visualization tools, such as TableauAnalytical and problem-solving ability to deliver projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills; experience with stakeholder managementExcellent presentation skills to eloquently explain and drive the agenda.Experience in fraud strategy/processes and/or fraud analytics is desired but not mandatoryEducation:Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience The Business Analytics Int Analyst is a developing professional role.
