As an Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst at our company, you will be responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of current or revised application systems and programs. Your role will involve contributing to applications systems analysis and programming activities. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize your knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, along with basic knowledge of other technical areas, to identify and define necessary system enhancements - Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups to recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems - Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications - Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, conduct testing and debugging - Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts - Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions - Resolve issues independently by selecting solutions through acquired technical experience - Operate with a limited level of direct supervision and exercise independence of judgment - Act as a Subject Matter Expert to senior stakeholders and/or other team members - Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding the firm's reputation and assets by driving compliance with laws and regulations Qualifications: - 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry - Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role - Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills - Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to unexpected changes Education: - Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, you will be involved in: - Designing, developing, and implementing new features and enhancements for web applications using Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, etc.). Python knowledge is an added advantage - Developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices to support front-end applications and external integrations - Working extensively with Oracle databases, including schema design, SQL/PL/SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning - Collaborating with product owners, UI/UX designers, and other developers to translate requirements into technical specifications and solutions - Ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through code reviews and best practices implementation - Debugging and resolving technical issues, identifying bottlenecks, and improving application performance - Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability - Participating in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies - Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies to improve development processes and products - Documenting technical designs, code, and processes clearly and concisely This job description provides a high-level overview of the work performed.
