About the role

As a technical problem-solver joining the Global Regulatory Reporting Analytics Team at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our regulatory data. Your responsibilities will include Proactive Impact Analysis and Reactive Root Cause Analysis, where you will assess the impact of upstream system changes and investigate data anomalies reported by the reporting team. You will be at the crossroads of Technology and Finance, requiring proficiency in SQL and Financial Products. Key Responsibilities: - Upstream Change Impact Analysis (The "Shield") - Monitor and review changes in upstream source systems such as General Ledger, Data Warehouse, Product Processors, or Reference Data. - Analyze the impact of changes on regulatory report lines using data mapping files and SQL. - Conduct content analysis to verify data nature changes. - Incident Triage & Root Cause Analysis (The "Detective") - Investigate data issues raised by the Regulatory Reporting team. - Trace data lineage back to the source using complex SQL queries. - Determine if it is a Data Quality issue, a transformation layer gap, or a valid business event. - Testing Strategy & Requirements Management - Translate findings into actionable JIRA tickets. - Define test cases for User Acceptance Testing to prevent regression in reporting. - Communication & Stakeholder Management - Act as a translator between the Reporting Team and Technology Team. - Present impact assessments to stakeholders for approval. Qualifications (The "Must-Haves"): - Technical Skills - Advanced SQL proficiency in writing complex queries. - Data Analysis skills to compare datasets and validate hypotheses. - Domain Knowledge (Banking or Trading) - Understanding of Banking Book and Trading Book products. - Knowledge of how product data translates to financial reporting. - Process & Tools - Experience with JIRA for defect tracking. - Ability to interpret Data Mapping Documents. Education: - Bachelors degree or higher required. - Preferred majors in Data Analytics/Data Science, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance/Economics, Statistics/Mathematics. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with specific regulations. - Python scripting skills. - Previous experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, or System Integration roles.
