Reporting: Founders Location : Bengaluru Office Role Expectations Technology Leadership The Head - Engineering & AI is expected to play a transformational leadership role in driving the companys technology vision, AI innovation, execution discipline, scalability, and engineering culture. This role goes beyond managing delivery and requires strategic ownership in building a future-ready AI-first HR technology platform. The expectations from the role include: Strategic Technology & AI Leadership Define and continuously evolve the companys long-term technology and AI vision aligned with business growth and market evolution.Drive proactive AI-first product thinking rather than reactive customer-led development.Continuously evaluate how AI can:improve product capabilities,reduce operational costs,automate workflows,improve customer experience,and create sustainable market differentiation.Build future-ready, scalable, and intelligent HR tech products ahead of market demand. Product Innovation & Market Leadership Lead technology-driven innovation across the product portfolio.Continuously benchmark competitors, emerging technologies, and AI-native platforms to ensure the company remains ahead of market trends.Identify opportunities for differentiation through:Generative AI,intelligent automation,predictive analytics,conversational AI,workflow optimization,and data-driven experiences.Work closely with Product and Business teams to convert market insights into scalable product capabilities. Execution Excellence & Accountability Drive strong execution discipline, delivery ownership, and outcome-oriented engineering culture.Ensure all technology initiatives are evaluated with clear consideration towards:timelines,scalability,customer adoption,implementation complexity,and commercial impact.Establish structured review mechanisms, engineering governance, prioritization frameworks, and accountability systems.Ensure execution momentum, urgency, and delivery predictability across all engineering initiatives. Scalability, Cost Optimization & Platform Efficiency Build highly scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient SaaS platforms.Drive continuous optimization across:infrastructure costs,architecture efficiency,cloud utilization,AI model costs,third-party dependencies,and engineering productivity.Evaluate and implement strategic technology partnerships, frameworks, and external solutions where required to accelerate business outcomes.Ensure technology decisions are commercially sustainable and aligned with growth objectives. Engineering Culture & Organizational Development Build a high-performance engineering organization driven by ownership, innovation, collaboration, and accountability.Lead AI upskilling initiatives and continuous learning programs across engineering teams.Foster a culture where teams align engineering efforts with larger business outcomes and customer impact.Develop strong leadership pipelines and mentoring frameworks within the engineering organization.Break functional silos and encourage cross-functional collaboration across Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Operations. Product Stability & Customer Experience Ensure high platform reliability, product quality, and customer satisfaction.Drive reduction in support escalations, recurring defects, and production issues.Establish strong engineering quality practices, observability frameworks, and operational excellence standards.Create a customer-centric engineering mindset focused on retention, adoption, and long-term trust. Founder-Level Ownership & Business Contribution Operate as a strategic business leader and not only as a functional engineering head.Contribute actively across:product strategy,customer discussions,GTM initiatives,strategic partnerships,operational scaling,and business transformation initiatives.Bring urgency, intensity, accountability, and proactive leadership required in a high-growth SaaS environment.Actively partner with leadership and board stakeholders to drive technology-led business growth.
